Gang Renouncement and Denouncement

The MESSAGE is critical, but when reaching youth with a prevention and intervention program about the dangers and netagive consequences of joining a gang, it is the MESSENGER that makes the difference.

Steered Straight's Gang Awareness Programs bring the only real message abut gangs that our youth need to hear -- Don't Join!!!

But it is the Messengers that make the difference. The Gang Awareness facilitators are all former gang members who have each renounced and denounced their affiliations. They have each suffered the negative consequences of gang activity. All are ex-offenders who have served substantial amounts of prison time resulting directly from their involvement in gangs and gang- related criminal activity.

Each facilitator has life-experience stories and lessons from their years in gangs and gang affiliation; be it Latin Kings, Neta, Bloods, Crips, Ms-13, Skinheads, or various other factions, and each facilitator brings a powerful message to our youth to steer them compleetely away from gang involvement.
