About Rocky Herron

Rocky Herron spent 31 years as a DEA Special Agent investigating drug trafficking at the local, national, and international levels. He strongly believes in the law enforcement mission but also believes that youth education is the only true way we can get our society to move away from so much suffering from drug abuse. Rocky uses his career experiences as the basis of his presentations to show students the true impact of substance abuse on the individual, the family, school, city, nation, and the global community.

Rocky’s current presentations are the results of 15 years of testing these messages with youth audiences across the world. He speaks in both English and Spanish and has a history of engaging large audiences regardless of ethnic, geographic, or socio-economic boundaries. He has a Masters Degree in education and has received an honorary doctorate from the National Autonomous University of Mexico for his success in educating the youth of Mexico.

Upon retiring from DEA in 2021, Rocky accepted a position as “Alcohol and Other Drug Ambassador” for the San Diego County Office of Education. He frequently represents the World Boxing Council (WBC) and WBC University by providing presentations and training resources to boxing communities in the USA and Mexico.

Rocky’s mission is to empower students to make smarter choices by showing them the true impact of substance abuse on the individual, the family, school, city, nation, and the global community. He believes that every child should be educated so he can make positive choices in choosing his future.

Rocky has joined the Steered Straight team to continue educating kids with the truth about drugs so they can make positive, informed choices when it comes to drugs.
